Google voice and video chat

Google has incorporated a video chat system into Gmail that allows anyone that uses this mail service to have audiovisual conversations with the people in their contact list.

And no, it's not necessary to use Google Talk to start a video call. All you need is a web browser to make the video call. The result is similar to any instant messaging application on your desktop.

The main area of the conversation window is reserved for the image of the person listening. Your image appears to the side and in a smaller size. The bottom part is used to send text messages.
